I just got this one on audio through LibroFM (join now and get 3 books for the price of 1 using the code: SWITCH HERE.) I love a good memoir and this one came highly recommended by my friend Sarah over at Sarah’s Bookshelves. I am starting this one this week and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all soon!
On Ocean Boulevard by Mary Alice Monroe

I look forward to a new addition n the Beach House series every single spring. Monroe’s gorgeous and detailed writing set’s the scene so beautifully and I am so invested in what this family is up to every year.
I first got into this series after we lost my mother in law back in 2015. She had lent me The Beach House a few months before she passed away and I remember picking it up and seeing a little sticky note on it that said: “please return when you are done! :)” and I knew it was a sign.
She was a book lover like me and I totally understand the feeling of loaning out one of your very favorite books and knowing you won’t stop thinking about it until it is back safely on your bookshelf.
I ended up devouring this series and it became a big part of my grief process and also such a wonderful way to connect with her through reading. We didn’t always have everything in common but I felt like I got to know her in a whole new way through this series. While I didn’t have the chance to give it back to her, it now sits proudly on my bedroom bookshelf and it makes me think of her every time I see it.
Beach Read by Emily Henry

I have been saving this one for summer weather and we are finally getting a sneak peek here in Vermont! While we might not be going on any beach vacations this year, I love the fact that books can take you somewhere else when you have to stay where you are. I have been really into the contemporary romance genre the past few months so I have high hopes for this one!
A romance writer who no longer believes in love and a literary writer stuck in a rut engage in a summer-long challenge that may just upend everything they believe about happily ever afters.
Rodham by Curtis Sittenfeld
Rodham by Curtis Sittenfeld was one of my most anticipated 2020 reads! After loving Sittenfeld’s 2008 novel, American Wife SO much that I had high hopes for this one.I loved the nuanced look at gender, ambition, power, and privilege and also found the plotline completely engrossing. Rodham would make a fantastic book club discussion, especially as we are in the midst of an election year.
The Wife Stalker by Liv Constantine

The Wife Stalker was definitely entertaining but personally, I struggle with an ending that is too “wait, what??!” I know that is what some people love about thrillers but I guess I just need something a little more based in reality. I did find this book completely engrossing and if you like an ending that will keep your head spinning, this might be for you!
Happy & You Know It by Laura Hankin
Amazon Link | LibroFM Bookstore Link
Happy & You Know It is basically a beach read on steroids. I was looking for some escape reading and it had the perfect mix of twists and humor. While it was a little out there with the exaggerated plot, it totally worked in so many ways. It had a relatable take on upper-class new motherhood, social media, and other cultural phenomena.
You either loved or hated these characters which were part of the appeal. It was super readable, engaging, and not as predictable as I originally thought. I found this book to be the perfect brain candy that had a great balance of being ridiculous and totally relatable at the same time.
