Gift Guides Galore!

It’s that time of the year when holiday gift guides are going around the internet like wildfire. While I have found some that are super helpful, it can also get very overwhelming and can sometimes feel a bit..insincere.

As a blog reader myself, I often struggle with wanting to support bloggers, who do put in a lot of time and energy behind the scenes to share content online, AND the idea of super overconsumption and also authenticity.

Tried & True

I wanted to put together a gift guide of tried and true things that I have purchased … Read more...

Happy November!

Hello! While we had a fairly mild October, we woke up to whipping winds today that had a chill that reminded us all that winter is right around the corner! November can be an extension of beautiful fall weather or go right into winter mode around here right away, you just never know! I had my snow tires put on this past week and I am hoping because I have them, we won’t need them for a bit…kind of like having an umbrella!

Gen The Bookworm Monthly Book Wrap-Up

Hello and Happy October!

September always seems like the longest month to me…well along with January! It is filled with lots of great things but it always seems to last forever. The good thing about it seeming to last so long is that I read a lot of great books!

September Reading Highs & Lows:

Gen The Bookworm book reviews

September was filled with a lot of amazing reading and a couple of books that were a bit of a disappointment…. My very favorite books of the past month were The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer and The Dearly Beloved by Cara Wall. … Read more...

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I am working from home today so I thought I would prioritize checking in here. September has been jam-packed and it has taken a bit to get back into a routine. The boys are happy at school and Kristy and I are adjusting to our regular work hours again which has been nice!

Fall Photographer Life…

This time of year, work is filled with editing lots of school photos, high school senior portraits and lots and lots of family sessions! It feels nice to have our longer workdays back again as this is definitely … Read more...

August Recap:

Who else can believe that it is already almost September?! August is always a funny month because part of it is full-on summer and then the end is getting back into our regular routine of school. I read a lot of great books this past month, my favorite being The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo. I also did some vacation reading and really enjoyed The Forever Summer and The Islanders.

Currently Loving…Audiobooks at Work!

During my heavy editing season audiobooks get me through the long hours of sitting at the computer. My work is heavily creative so I am able to listen while I work which is amazing! Speaking of audiobooks, I finished The Most Fun We Ever Had this past week which I alternated reading and listening too. I shared more over on … Read more...

The Month of June

Wow, did June fly by for anyone else? It is always a funny month because half of it is the last two weeks of school and the other two are the first two weeks of summer break. It is a transition time for everyone in our family and the end of some things and the beginning of others which makes it very bittersweet.

While it seems like it flew by, it is also amazing to think of all the things that we did during the last 4 weeks..baseball season and regular school … Read more...
