Hello! How is your week going? I can’t believe it is Thursday already! Holiday weeks always throw me off and they also tend to be more hectic with 5 days of work fitting into 4 days. This is my busy work season now that it is nice out (Vermont photography season is in full swing) and I am trying to fit in as much as possible before school gets out in mid-June when our childcare will be pretty limited.

So much laundry:

I am going to try and do “day in the life” post every couple of months because I always find it so fascinating how so many things change and how some things are exactly the same(like folding and putting away ALL the laundry!) I last did a “Day in the Life” post back in March and you can see that blog post HERE.

I have always been so interested in seeing “regular life” much more than special events or photoshoots when I follow along with a blog. There is … Read more...

This quote speaks to me so much. Without a doubt, the most important things in my life are in the people that are in it. This last year has been one of the hardest in my adult life and it has also reminded me so much of the absolutely amazing and inspiring friendships I am so lucky to have. True friendships support you and challenge you and push you to be your very best self.

Today I wanted to talk about some of my entrepreneur friends. I am not only grateful for these women but I

Blank 6 x 4 in

Hello! Happy Wednesday! I am excited to share a “day in the life” post today. I used to do these posts a couple of times a year on my old blog, and it was always so much fun to look back on. This was when our kids were little and I was “home” with them full time.

Life definitely looks a lot different now and I hope to do this a couple of times a year on here because it is hard to remember all the everyday details that really do change so quickly with a young family.  Both of … Read more...

Last week Kristy and I taught our first round of Your Life, Your Memories, a new workshop in our photography series. The goal of our new class is to teach our students a system that enables you to continually sort, save and print your photos. The digital age has many benefits, but it also means that a lot of us have an overwhelming amount of digital photos and memories that we aren’t sure what to do with.

During our class, I talked about my favorite place to print photo books and square prints that are affordable and easy to … Read more...

Hello! How is your week going? We are preparing for a big snow storm tonight which means the kids are hoping for a snow day tomorrow. I love snow days but we are also in the midst of planning for our next photo class and I also have some other work deadlines so I have mixed feelings…Working with kids home always sounds like an okay idea in theory, but doesn’t usually work out very well!

Kristy Dooley Photography Workshop

This past weekend we taught another run of our introductory DSLR photography workshop, Your Life, Your Camera. Kristy and I wrote and began teaching this course in 2014 and it is exciting to see how much it has grown and the amazing local photography community that has been built as a part of this. We have met many so many amazing people along the way and love connecting with others who share the same passion for photography as we do.

We always ask for detailed feedback after each workshop and … Read more...

I am so excited to introduce you to one of my favorite people today. You may recognize Kristy because I feature her a lot on here as she is not only my friend but my co-worker.

I first met Kristy almost 9 years old when our oldest children happened to be in the same baby playgroup. We bonded over having the same wedding photographer and our friendship blossomed from there. We love that we met through photography because that is what we do together now.

We spend a lot of time together and we have the same taste in books

Good afternoon! Is anyone else forgetting which day of the week it is? The kids had a long weekend from school for MLK Day and I have been feeling confused all day…It also means trying to fit everything into a 4 day work week which usually means there is a lot of juggling going on…

With the holiday break just a few weeks ago and a random snow day, I really am looking forward to having a full week of school at some point soon…Figuring out how to juggle work and kids in school is a constant challenge as their … Read more...

Almost 9 years ago, I started a blog. It was a completely different time on the internet, the days of which blogs were more like online journals and less like people trying to influence what you buy.

I was newly pregnant at the time and it was a way to document our daily life and my excitement about impending motherhood. Over time, it became one of the most helpful ways for to me connect with other moms when new parenthood looked a lot different than what I had initially expected.

To say the transition was challenging, would be an understatement.  … Read more...
